Gym Bud AI — Privacy Policy
Gym Bud AI is a fitness and nutrition app. This policy says what we collect, why, who processes it for us, and how you delete it.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and name, provided through Sign in with Apple, Google, or email sign-in. We use Clerk to handle sign-in.
- Profile: age, gender, height, weight, weight goal, activity level, training schedule and gym type, which you enter to get personalised targets and workouts.
- Your logs: the meals, ingredients, workouts and sets you record, and your saved meals.
- Chat: messages you send to the in-app assistant and its replies, kept so the conversation has context.
- Photos: food and nutrition-label photos you choose to take or upload. They are sent to our servers, analysed to estimate nutrition, and not stored. Only the resulting estimate is kept if you log it.
- Device: a push-notification token and your time zone, only if you turn on reminders.
- Usage counts: how many photos and chat messages you use per day, to enforce fair-use limits.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or advertising identifiers, and we do not use tracking or analytics SDKs.
Why we use it
- To run the app: calculate your targets, generate workouts, log food, and answer you in chat.
- To send the reminders you turn on, at the frequency you choose.
- To keep the service safe and fair: usage limits, abuse prevention, and content guardrails on the assistant.
We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your data to train AI models.
Who processes it for us
- Amazon Web Services (USA): hosting, database, and Amazon Bedrock AI models that power chat, photo estimates and label reading.
- Clerk: sign-in and account security.
- Apple and Google: only if you sign in with them.
- Expo: delivery of push notifications.
- OpenAI: generation of workout plans and ingredient suggestions. Your name and email are not sent.
- USDA FoodData Central: nutrition data lookups for foods you search. No personal data is sent.
These providers process data only to provide their service to us.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists. Photos are processed and discarded immediately.
Deleting your data
Open Profile → Account Settings → Delete Account. This removes your login and everything we hold about you: profile, logs, chats, saved meals and reminder settings. It cannot be undone. You can also email ashis@ssqlab.com.
Security
Data travels encrypted (TLS) and is stored in access-controlled AWS infrastructure in the United States. Sign-in tokens are verified on every request.
Children
Gym Bud AI is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Calorie and nutrition figures are estimates and workouts are suggestions. Gym Bud AI is not medical advice. Talk to a professional before changing your diet or training, especially if you have a medical condition.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and note it in the app.
